Thanks to the efforts of many, this year's event was a resounding success. I, for one, had a blast and listening to the conversations around the room I supsect that many others did as well. From a donation standpoint, this year was the 2nd most successful event. Our grand total was $6,480.95! Here are a few interesting statistics: The online donations were quite successful for those of you that signed up. A total of $1685 was raised online. We raised an additional $1061 on the actual day of the event, including $453 for selling flies!
Special thanks goes out to Capt. Jon Huff of Circle H Charters (www.circlehcharters.com) for donating a 1/2 day inshore charter. Remember if you are looking for a saltwater light takle or flyfishing adventure, give Jon a call. Also thanks to Spero Poulos at Spinners Pizza and Subs for graciously donating the food to feed the hungry tiers. Check out Spinners at 2805 Raeford Rd when you are in the mood for a meal out. Thanks to Charles McLaurin at Eastover Art Works for donating the custom trout prints that were the highlight of our raffle. Check out his gallery if you get a chance. Thanks to Kris Smith at the JE Pechman Center for kindly donating the space for our event. I can't imagine a more suitable or pleasant place to hold our Tie-a-thon. Finally, thanks to all of you for donating your time and energies to making this event a success.
If anyone has pictures of the event, please email them to me so that I can update our website. Also, suggestions as to how to make the event fun and successful are always welcome
